Justice Pearletta E. Lanns

On the 12th June 2019, His Excellency the Governor-General, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP, LLD appointed Justice Pearletta Emelda Lanns, Retired Master of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and Retired High Court Judge, as Chairperson of the Integrity Commission.

Justice Lanns has had a lengthy career as a public servant in St. Kitts and Nevis and other OECS territories. She was first a Library Assistant at the Nevis Public Library. She was then appointed Clerk at the St. Kitts Public Library, and after obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Library Studies in 1984, she was appointed Assistant Librarian at the Basseterre Public Library.

After reading Law, in 1995, she was admitted to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the Federation of St Christopher and Nevis, and thereafter she joined the Chambers of the Attorney General as a Crown Counsel. She was then appointed as Registrar of the High Court of Justice, Provost Marshall and Additional Magistrate, for Districts A and B, St. Kitts, from 1998 to 2007. She also served as Registrar of Lands, Registrar of Deeds, Registrar of Probates, Registrar of Intellectual Property, and Registrar of Companies.

Justice Lanns was a part-time Lecturer/Tutor in the Law of Tort at the University of the West Indies School of Continuing Studies in St Kitts from 2006 to 2007. From 2007 Justice Lanns served the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court as Master in all of the OECS Countries. She was a High Court Judge of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Kitts and Nevis until she retired on 15th November 2018.
