CCAICACB COMMUNIQUE FORMALISES CALL FOR FULL ORGANISATION OF ANTI-CORRUPTION BODIES IN THE REGION

The Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB) has reiterated its call for respective Caribbean governments to fully operationalize and sustain their national integrity and anti-corruption bodies. This entails securing adequate accommodation, sufficient financing, and completing the requisite administrative requirements for the bodies to fully function.

This was a common theme throughout their recently held conference, in Guyana, as successive countries presented their Annual Reports, highlighting their challenges and in some cases lack of support.

Challenges to independence, impartiality, and adequate funding were identified as shared experiences, as expressed in the communique issued by the conference. Chairperson, Justice Pearletta Lanns (Retired) of the St. Kitts Integrity Commission indicated that the full extent of the communique is provided on the Commission’s website at www.iplskn.com.
